Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part Two

I shed tears over Fred's death & got really emotional when Hogwarts was under attack by Voldermort & the death eaters. Not forgetting the part when Snape was killed by you-know-who & how he was under the disguise of a death eater from the very beginning in order to protect Harry who happens to be the son of his one true love, Lily.

I'm definitely catching it for the second time one of these days!

Mama persuaded us to watch APM with her this year, by arguing the fact that we got to be entertained by numerous artists with only a $38 ticket. So there we were at Max Pavilion where everyone who attended were surprisingly dressed up to the nines, like we're attending the equivalent of a Grammys. Well, technically, it is the closest to that for the regional malay music industry.

This baby girl of mine slept on my mother's lap throughout the entire show.

As usual, none of us brought the Nex 5.

All time favourite, Siti Nurhaliza! My cousin was so fortunate to be one of the dancers during her performance where she debuted her first english song, which reminded me so much of Cheryl Cole's, Fight For This Love.

If you missed the show last night, the man who clinched the most trophies was Hady Mirza, although almost everyone in the audience was shouting for Taufik Batisah.

We caught Transformers in 3D at the newly revamped Shaw Lido without papa although he was the one who insisted that we booked the tickets the night before. He wasn't able to land on shore as expected & only managed to join us after dinner.

Right after I clocked out of work at six in the evening, I hopped on the company's bus where I alighted at Jurong Point & was greeted by dearest waiting patiently for my arrival. You see, every year we take turns preparing a celebration for our anniversary & twenty-eleven was his. What was meant to be a surprise turned out to be a guessing game for me because I couldn't contain the anticipation any longer & begged him for some hints. After a couple of guesses, I eventually got it right; a cable car ride!

Major blooper- brought the dica instead of the Nex 5.

Heading towards Mount Faber before it u-turned back to Sentosa station.

Heaved a huge sigh of relief the moment I saw that huge grin of his plastered on his face when he set eyes on the watch.

The only shot that didn't turn out blurry thanks to my shaky hands even then it's not hd.

The highlight of the night was when he surprised me with a pair of diamonds! I immediately swapped it with the ones that I was wearing. Diamond hearts, love at first sight!

Everything was perfect, I couldn't ask for anything more. The picturesque 360 degrees bird's eye view of the harbour during sunset was definitely a ride to remember.

Once we got down safetly back at Harbourfront, we indulged in sweet banana treats at Max Brenner's. Their crepes were pretty pricey in comparison to the one at Sentosa boardwalk. But that won't stop us from coming back for more to try other dishes on the menu.

The sixth was a success & I'm already counting the days until the seventh.... our engagement. ♥

Papa was working but managed to take time off for lunch at town with the three of us since mum's away on a road trip & Phat had to work. We'll just have to wait until he comes back home on Tuesday for a proper celebration with the whole family.

I had a pretty lovely day seeing that I spent almost the entire day with dearest & his family. Kite flying by the beach, hot barbecued stingray, just being in the company of him & his loved ones makes me feel warmth inside. Our families might have different lifestyles but I'm glad I could be myself around his. I can let my hair down without being in the pretense of someone trying to fit in. But of course, that would have been expected from someone who's been in a relationship for almost six years now. If you're reading this baby (I know you would), just thought you should know that I'm totally anticipating the twenty-third, our sixth anniversary. Wonder what you've got up your sleeves!

I haven't blogged in a whileeeee. Or maybe I am just addicted to tumblr which resulted in my neglecting blogspot.

I was supposed to join the rest of my family at Sultan mosque & so I had my mum bring me my cardigan & shawl hence I could be appropriately dressed for a religious class. On a sidenote, I'd like to thank my dearest for accepting my last minute change of plans to head to the mosque, without any questions asked. Thank you for your understanding dear, I truly appreciate it.

P/S: It's twenty minutes past one in the morning & my sister wants to drive to the dam to witness the eclipse that's currently happening at this very moment & I'm like whutttt. -.-

Papa got some time off his work & came home for a bit before bringing us out for dinner at ECP. Initially, I was supposed to have a date with my dearest but we had to compromise because Phat was working & I'd have to drive the rest of my family back after dropping off my dad at Marina.

Lots of seafood which would have been easily gone to waste if not for my supermassive black hole baby. (My family's not a big eater.)

After dinner, we even squeezed in an hour of cycling along the park.

Time check; 2100 hrs. Grocery shopping at VVC as the night was still young & papa was only due on board much later.

We wouldn't have booked tickets for the show if not for our sole intention to treat Nazurah since it was after all her school holidays. But in all honesty, I would have still gone because I'm such a huge fan of Disney even at this age. Phat was supposed to come along, unfortunately though she had to miss it due to work and so mama gladly joined us instead. Silly me to have assumed that cameras were not allowed otherwise I would have bring the Nex 5. The pictures didn't do justice towards the magical performance which certainly brought out the kid in me. In fact, I found it purely entertaining to be singing along to the Disney medley - Cars, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King & Tinkerbell.

It's my greatest pleasure to introduce to you the new driver of my family car. Look who's on driver's seat! My dearest sweetheart, if you could smile like this more often you'd have me at your feet anytime of the day.

This also means I can dedicate more time for cam whoring while the man drives. It sure is a change to have him driving me around although I tend to get a bit bossy sometimes (especially when he parks) but that's besides the point. Instances like having the luxury to cuddle up to him, leaving smooches on his cheek, love love love.

I haven't been carrying my digicam around lately & so I have to depend on my iPhone for pictures.

Right after my lecture ended at 11am, baby had his SI fetch me from school (to which I'm grateful for) before meeting the rest at the NPC. From there we made our way in two cars & drove up via Tuas checkpoint to Saujana Restaurant for a seafood galore, favoured among those in the Bravo team.

The sambal telur crab which is my personal favourite (& I bet the rest shares the same sentiment) was the icing on the cake. We definitely made the best decision by saving the best for the last; finger licking good!

Secretly hoping that one day I get to satisfy my seafood cravings here again. Once we ended our lunch with ice cream for dessert, we headed to gunung Pulai for our next activity for the day.

The waterfall alone was truly a scenic beauty but otherwise I wasn't exactly impressed with the amount of rubbish strewn all over the entire perimeter.

Tasha & I were just hanging around enjoying the view. There wasn't any proper toilet or changing room in the vicinity so we couldn't be bothered joining the guys for a swim. Although I was this close to diving in... temptation much.

BT Bravo boys; worn out from their swim but still manage to plaster smiles on their faces.

Our dinner & shopping trip at Pandan City & our best buy of the night were RM70 worth of firecrackers!

After some shopping done we dropped by SI's rest house in Kempas.

When everyone had freshen up, we trooped down to the open space & created our own mini display of fireworks. Sure enough it was the highlight of the day & here's just a glimpse of it! This was nothing compared to our last round of fireworks which just burst into colours when it shot across the sky. You could probably view the vid on my fb which I was tagged in.

After an afternoon lecture, I made my way straight to Causeway Point (which is more like construction point now, what's with all the renovation going on) to meet my dearest and join the rest of my family.

He was attempting the thumbs up sign but the camera didn't get that & the reason for doing so was because he had on his Arsenal jersey along with his matching cap. That's my daddy-o for you!

Waiting for the others at the carpark only to have them entering the arcade to blow off steam!

Spent a good hour or so on games and neoprints before retreating to the Banquet for a wind down and ended the night with The Green Hornet in 3D.

We weren't exactly sure if his birthday falls today or how old he's turning to but my mum got him a present nonetheless. So we turned up at AA for high tea (I suppose) since we were there at 4 pm and it was way too early dinner anyhow. Blessed to be invited for free food on a cool, rainy day.

You tiao, squid, cereal prawn, shark fin soup.... hmmm. Worth a second trip! Although parking is rather inconvenient given the limited number of parking lots.

My parents are in Bali and have been there for the past three days. Tonight at 2015 hrs, their plane will land (safely, Insya'Allah) at Terminal 1 and my sisters and I will be there to welcome them home. I miss my mama so much!

The only event worth mentioning throughout the entire week was when I carelessly left my wallet (which contains a huge amount of cash for exam fees) at the school reception desk and only realized that it was missing two hours later leaving me in a frantic frenzy and the trip to SP's open house to catch Phat's fyp showcase.

After visiting my grandma on a warm Sunday afternoon, we dropped by Marina so as to pass the time since it was too early to be heading home just as yet.

Such a lovely weather to be strolling by the bay with your love ones.

We were all amazed by the bowl like fountain because of how it acts like a speaker where two people can hold a conversation if they were to stand right across each other, the two ends of the diameter of the fountain. At one point in time it started filling up with water (well the bowl was initially empty you see) and it starts pouring down at the basement below.

The food court at MBS was way overpriced so we decided to make do with some light snacks.

I apologize for the grainy photos since it was taken using an iPhone, but a trusty one at that seeing how I forgot to charge my dica. On another note, school is starting tomorrow and I am all geared up to end this semester. Gute nacht!

I wanted to spend new year's eve with my love ones far from the chaos and the possibility of being packed like sardines. At 10 pm, we headed for the reservoir and spent an hour or so there simply enjoying the night breeze. My dad left for work earlier that morning and will be away for another ten days while my sisters were in the company of their friends. So it was just the six of us, not that i'm complaining.

Baby and Phat joined us at the ward before we all made our way to Marina Square for dinner. It was also his first time ever to treat my family now that he's working and holding a stable job.

Loved his choice of food! I got to have this one the next time we decide to have Secret Recipe.

Dearest & I have planned to bring the kids out for ice-skating but unfortunately the rink was closed for ice hockey every Thursday evening. It was such a major disappointment for them and the fact that it was raining the entire time didn't help either. After much consideration, we brought them to ECP for prawning!

First things first, due to some unforeseen circumstances we didn't end up at Masjid Sultan like we planned to. Plus if you're wondering, sadly i did not fast. We left before noon and reach SGH to visit my grandma who was admitted two days ago after she met up with an accident, where the car she was in flipped over thrice and skidded to a halt metres away from a slope. That took place somewhere off Kuantan where they had just left Pahang and were well on their way to Melacca for their last stop. In conclusion, she was sent back to Sg by an ambulance from one of the hospitals in Melacca after my dad insisted that she was to be given the utmost priority while the rest of my relatives were stranded at a less than mediocre hospital there. So there we were waiting for our turn at the lobby to visit her since SGH allowed only up to four visitors per bed.

My poor grandma, who rolled out of the car when it came to a stop, suffered a minor fracture of her rib cage. But due to her other illnesses, it seems like she will be staying there for the rest of the week.

After dropping Phat to school and getting a cup of avocado juice, we made our way to Tampines Mall since papa would be meeting us for dinner at Changi Village later that night.

Hanging out with my lovely mother at Northpoint on a lazy afternoon, with Nazurah to keep us company.

Followed by a mandatory but unexpected dinner with papa on the night of their anniversary.

The number of times my family had been mistaken for Indonesians (a handful of time, Malaysians) when we go shopping were quite a plenty. Probably due to the way we dress, by that I meant my mother's interesting mix & match of her clothes with her shawls or Phat's fierce dressing statement. Or perhaps our facial features. Or maybe just a different reason altogether. Nonetheless, we get flattered really but at the same time it implies that those working on the customer service line choose to believe that Malay/Muslim Singaporeans are not worthy of or not capable of spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on their goods. My point is, they should stop looking down on us in general.

On a another note, tomorrow marks the 9th & 10th Muharram. Also known as Hari Asyurah. I will be bringing my mum & embah to spend the evening at Masjid Sultan. The question is, do i have the willpower to fast for the next two days?

Whoever fasts on this day is like one who fasts all his life.

At WW, one chilly night. With snacks from home, including Want Want, carrot cake & mee goreng. while we enjoy the cool sea breeze.

A hyperactive Nazurah.

Wedding at the void deck. I'm not sure which neighbor of mine got married though. Passable deco but extremely good food! Their appetizers, main course & desserts were worth a second helping.

Spontaneous shopping trip with papa who called home at eleven in the morning to inform us that he would be waiting at ION as he managed to get a few hours off work. Too bad Seri was away at ECP, having to spend the night there for a meteor shower camp held by her school in order to gain CE points. (I have no idea what that is but apparently RP students have to collect a certain amount of points as a prerequisite for them to graduate.) Back to papa, he's on a ten day work week & was blessed to be given some time off to meet my mum since it's their twenty-third wedding anniversary as of 13th Dec 2010.

I told Khidhir to snap a picture of us with the christmas tree in the background but clearly he did not get the message.

I had no doubt one of the incredible traditional midnight celebration with my family at home last night. A mixed berry pie in replacement of a cake, complete with two big and small candles each. The photos are in my mum's iPhone and I'll be sure to get them from her soon so that i can share it with you lovelies.

On another note, i kind of skipped school today just so i can spend the day doing whatever it is i want. I thought i deserve the luxury of lounging about in the company of my love ones without having to think about the mocks.

Alhamdulillah. My same age cousin Ifah recently gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy, Alfy. He weighs only 2.6 kg and was born at three in the afternoon after spending nine months and one day swimming in his mummy's womb.

Happy belated nineteenth birthday Nana! She now shares the same birthday as her nephew Alfy. That must have been one of the greatest present from her sister.

I am proud to say that i was the one who got all the prawns. But baby was the one who handled them all. From placing the bait (prawn's cocktail; live worm and chicken's heart) onto the hook, stepping on the prawn's pincers (or whatever it is that they call it) to removing the hook off the prawn to cleaning them and preparing them for the bbq.

He said that the energy of this particular Han Bin prawning place suits me which is the probably the reason why i manage to catch a reasonable number of prawns whenever we go there compared to him. Whereas he prefers to go prawning at ECP but it was quite inconvenient to drive all the way there given that i only had the chance to meet him late in the evening.

On this day, our family ritual includes visiting both of our grandma's house. One living practically next door and the other at Everton Park.

My parents were invited to a small gathering at Tampines where a friend of papa (and the rest of the muslims out there) will be departing to the holy land for haj pilgrimage soon. Upon reaching papa realized that he had left his phone at home so after they alighted i dropped the rest of my siblings at Tampines 1 for food while i made my long way back to Yishun in the rain. An hour later with all of my family members back in tow, we went to Somerset 313 for dinner and shopping! The cold and rainy weather was such a perfect excuse to get myself a brand new cardigan.

The past week was in general like every other week in my life. It's high time to look forward to the upcoming weeks which includes baby's practical test, my twenty-second, Dec mock exams and holiday with my family! Papa was asking me for suggestions earlier today and given the tight budget we have this year, (due to mama's recent dental surgery, my wisdom tooth extraction, papa's stay in SGH, the passing of my grandfather and the list goes on....) papa himself was leaning towards a resort stay at Bali. While i on the other hand wouldn't mind a shopping trip at Bangkok. But of course nothing has been confirmed yet. Vacation is still pending until further notice. Nonetheless, it's always good to have something to ponder over while i get through November. Good night!

...we hopped in for a short drive to WW for a picnic. Our orange smiley face kite failed to fly amidst the clear blue sky because one of the two rods went missing. There it was lying miserably on the ground while we had fun playing 'pepsi cola 1 2 3' among other things.

Yesterday my parents and i brought her out to shop for her birthday gift. My dad wanted to have lunch first so we went to Hjh Maimunah at Geylang to satisfy our hunger. After which we went all the way back to Northpoint to get Zurah her gift. She finally settled for a Playdoh Cake making Set (which we totally had fun playing with). What's more, Khairi, Zurah's eldest brother coincidentally got her the exact same thing an hour later. If not for my call, Zurah would have gotten two cake making sets! Of course i had to convince him that it was all right to exchange it back for something similar. In the end, he chose a Burger Shack set. You could probably guess how we spent the night yesterday. Making pretty colourful cakes, cupcakes, lots of french fries, sausages and even a hamburger!Nazurah with the Cinderella balloon which i picked out for her.Pardon my hideous hair but this is the only full shot picture of us. What's more i was wearing my mom's shoes for awhile because she had blisters in it.The picture below is my favourite! I love her so much!Don't you agree with me that she looks extremely sweet here?

My Sunday consists of a dinner with friends from secondary school whom i haven't met in ages and the usual hanging out with my family over good food and karaoke.It was also my first meal of the day. I have to kick this habit of eating once a day for my own good. Even then, I only had two biscuits, an upsize mashed potato, a cup of iced milo and some leftover fries from a friend. Only because we had no plans after dinner that we decided to just sit by the fish pond just catching up while waiting for the latecomers.This is Siti Noraini, my friend through all ten years of compulsary education.Sad to say i had to leave the gang (with promises of a future gathering) and made my way back to Yishun for some family time, singing Siti Nurhaliza's old hits on the tele with my homies.As you can see i had a satisfying weekend with family and friends. I hope you guys did too!

The past midweek was spent at SGH where papa was admitted for two days and one night prior to his minor operation which involves the surgical removal of a growth on his back. He refused to allow us to upload a picture of him in the patients' gown instead he insisted that i took a video of him lying face down on the bed while the nurse was changing the dressing on his wound. It does not require much imagination to picture the sight of his back now. Just imagine scooping up a ball of meat with the ice cream scoop.

We were unanimous when it came to the kuih tart. Hands down, they were the tastiest ones we ever came across throughout Syawal so far.

Since no one else were at home for us to visit, papa decided to call his friend whom he had bonded with while on his pilgrimage last June. I swear he is one of the most soft spoken man i have got the chance to meet. He and his wife were such gracious hostesses.

Instead of having the luxury to wind down the day with a bottle of Yakult, legs stretched out lazily on the coffee table (and maybe a tub of Ben & Jerry's on one hand), i had to change out of the day's clothes into a baju kurung for more visiting since papa was around. We left right after maghrib and managed to conquer three houses, reaching home minutes before midnight.

Seri was missing as she was out with her friends as usual hence i got to occupy her vacant seat.

I had to crop one third of the picture below because i was stuck at the corner by the railings meddling with the straps of my heels.

We swapped our baju kurungs for some laid back attire, casual but still decent and appropriate. My siblings and i were late due to school and we arrived when everyone else were eating. Nevertheless, the brief time spent with them were nothing short of amazing.

What is wrong with my hair and the bloated mass that is my face?

If there is one thing that we can gain from atuk's departure is how his death has brought us together.

Once prayers were successfully completed, it was time for us to dig in!

Hun, thank you for taking time off to join my family and i for our majlis kenduri tahlil. I'm sure you know by now how much your presence means to me and I was heartened by how easily you were able to get along with cousins from my paternal side, most of whom you have only met for the first time.

This was after the burial rites that took place at Pusara Abadi, Muslim Cemetery earlier that morning the day after he left us. It was just beyond us how nenek would go around saying that atuk was sleeping in the room where his body was resting that fateful day. You can see below how much papa resembles nenek; like mother, like son.

Yayi Wang & his antics, as usual. He left right before i arrived although i did manage a quick greeting at the staircase.

I reached home just in time to meet my cousins from Brunei before they departed last Friday. Ever since they migrated there, they have been celebrating raya here every alternate year.

Phat drove them down to the nearest shop to get more sparklers but it was already closed by the time they got there.

Almost everyone from yayi Amin's (who is my late yayi's younger brother) clan came to visit last Monday, including his eldest daughter and family from Brunei. Honestly speaking, my mum and i could not make out 50% of what she was saying because of her thick Bruneian accent. This is her youngest son, Adi.

Sofea, yayi's only grandaughter, the aspiring ballerina.

Yayi's leg got worse and he could not carry on with the rest of the day's visiting. So he stayed for a while more before heading back home to retire for the day.

The day started with a quick visit to SGH to see atuk in the isolation ward. Embah also decided to join us for this year's raya. We went visiting to papa's godmother's house where he chose to seek shelter from during his rebel days.

The day ended at yayi Lan's & nyayi Ros's house. In fact this would be the last time they would celebrate raya there since they would be moving out and staying at JB for a while.

For those of you who are missing out on my tweets, i have been ranting about my late grandfather and my recent wisdom tooth extraction. I had a minor operation on Friday to remove three teeth, two of which had to be surgically done (complete with stitches) where i was sedated throughout the entire ordeal, falling into unconsciousness. Prior to fasting five hours before the op in addition to the massive amount of blood oozing out from the gaping holes which also means i had to stay away from food, i got out of bed the following morning only to find myself blacking out. In other words, i fainted and fell onto the floor in between the coffee table and the side table. My parents rushed out in an instant and papa had to carry me up. Now, armed with a week's MC i find myself predicting a very dull week ahead. I need to drop by the dental again this Friday to remove the stitches and i am pretty sure it is going to hurt like a bitch. Fortunately for me, i have my baby boy to keep me company. Good night!

@ SGH to visit arwah atuk who was then in the normal ward before he had to be relocated to the isolation ward. For those who haven't already know, my late paternal grandfather passed away on the afternoon of 15th September at SGH with his family by his bed side. Unfortunately, i wasn't around when he let out his last breath but i did spend the entire night before at the hospital having to rush there at 2 in the morning after receiving an emergency phone call from his doctor. May he rest in peace, amin.

Having a quick lunch before visiting our relatives' house! Mama wanted us to save one of our new baju kurung for when we all go visiting together because on that day papa was working and Phat was out studying. So, Seri and i eventually wore the same thing as we did on the second day of raya last year.

From Outram to Tampines to our bik mama's house where bik tini and her family were there too all dressed up in bright orange bangladeshi style.
